Preston Street is known as Corso Italia - the heart of Ottawa's Little Italy. The area is famous for its Italian heritage and events. Ottawa's best food is prepared in restaurants noted for top quality service and cuisine. The majority of the businesses are family operated with "an owner in the store" approach to customer service.

La Vendemmia - September 20 - 26, 2010 |
In Italian tradition, harvest time is when Farmers gather together to celebrate the earth's bounty, catch up with their neighbors, and offer their produce. It is a time of merriment, celebrating the end of the intense work involved in planting, growing, and harvesting. Wine -- being such an integral part of any gathering of friends -- has its own celebratory harvest tradition. Fresh off the vine grapes are poured into huge vats, and crushed in the first stage of this centuries old art form.
Since 1997, La Vendemmia has been Ottawa 's Celebration of Italian Wine & Food held in the heart of Little Italy, Preston Street. La Vendemmia is a series of Italian wine and food seminars, dinners, cooking demos, wine tastings and a charity grape stomp.

| The Gladstone presents - "A Flea in Her Ear" |
Visit: The Gladstone Theatre Official Site |
Come and revel in this comedic sex farce created as only the French can by the legendary Georges Feydeau.
The carefully sculpted plot takes hilarious aim at jealous lovers, mistaken identities, and bungling servants as a group of elegant individuals run into (and past) each other at a hotel of dubious reputation.
The result? Side-splitting comedy, split-second timing, and a show that builds and builds to a hysterically heart-stopping, not-to-be-missed climax. See below for your chance to win a great night out in Little Italy! |

The Preston Street BIA (Business Improvement Assoc) continues to add features to the attractive Preston streetscape.
One of the most challenging areas is under the Queensway. Underpasses are dark, often damp, always unpleasant places, but the Preston BIA has managed to turn theirs into a silk purse. The wall murals are attractive, the benches and seating in an underpass are actually being used. The latest installation are faux directional signs that feature the names of businesses. Four sign posts have been installed, with more directional arrows

OTTAWA - In the end, it was garbage that helped Ottawa's Little Italy go from grimy to gorgeous.
This summer will see the inner-city neighbourhood put the final touches on a $30-million facelift forced by a growing problem with overflowing sewers.
Since the mid-1980s, businesses and residents had been asking for help to restore their neighbourhood to the glamour of the pre-Second World War years, where Italians dominated Preston Street, a 1.2-kilometre link between Dow's Lake and downtown.
