Little Italy's Art & Light Festival | Night Lights
Night Lights returns to Preston Street for its second year, November 17th and 18th, and art duo Dems and Doll will be doubling the fun, with twice as many psychedelic lighting features as last year and an all new, interactive element.
This special event, presented by the Preston Street BIA, is a free, family friendly night out, filled with art, performance and music. The event is open from 7 till 11PM, both nights. Visitors will enter the parking lot of the Adult High School through a light tunnel and emerge in a fantasy land populated by glowing trees and animals, fire performers and living statues, all set to electronic music. Everything from last year’s event will be back again and doubled with new installations that include glowing crystals and towering light trees.
Dems and Doll have designed this year’s installations to make visitors feel a part of the experience. “Night Lights will be more interactive this year,” says artist Sarah Doll. “There are some features that you can climb on or walk through so that you can really get involved in the story.” These interactive features include a giant pink bird house with bunny ears, and a huge fox head you can walk into, making for some unique photo opportunities.
As it is an outdoor event, we are encouraging people to dress for the weather and come join in on the fun in Little Italy. It’s the perfect activity to take in before heading to dinner, drinks or a show at one of Preston Street’s many wonderful restaurants, bars and clubs.
