Get to Know the People on Preston

Caitlin Gagnon and Geneviève Duguay

“We’ve both been in the beauty industry for a long time. After working together in some high end salons, we decided we were ready to open our own place. Preston Street seemed like a great fit because it is a very diverse area and we had a vision for an eclectic spot that we think is reflective of the neighbourhood. Creating this space and sourcing some unique elements for it also gave us a chance to indulge our personal passion for interior design. We are delighted to offer a full range of customized salon and spa services, including some special, restorative body treatments like our ‘Dirty Gal’ mud wrap.”

“We chose Preston Street because we knew we wanted to be in an up and coming area. We love watching the parade of people right outside our door; there are older folks as well as lots of younger families. The amount of foot traffic was one of the best surprises when we opened and it’s helped us develop a strong customer base among people who live in the area. We love our little corner and our sunny curb-side terrace; it’s the perfect spot to watch all the activity in the neighbourhood, especially in the park across the street.”

“Working here stirs up fond memories for us both. I used to go skating on the Canal with my dad, finishing up at Dow’s Lake and then we’d have dinner on Preston so I knew the area from those happy visits. (Caitlin) I used to come to Preston Street quite often as well; some of my favourite restaurants in the city are here. ( Geneviève)”
