Get to Know the People on Preston

Diana Sheldrick

“I have been working as a Registered Massage Therapist since I graduated from Algonquin College in 2005. I absolutely love my job and am passionate about helping people reclaim their health, well-being and vitality. Six years ago I decided to supplement my practice of traditional Swedish massage techniques with training in Arvigo Maya Abdominal and Uterine Therapy, which originated in Belize. It gives me further skills to treat people with a variety of imbalances, blockages and pain as well as offering proactive health benefits for all.”

“Maya Therapy, effective for both men and women, focuses on the abdomen, low back and hip areas with external, gentle, repetitive massage techniques. These are designed to ease tension and to keep the core balanced so that all the interconnected systems which flow through the centre of the body can function properly. I also teach self-care techniques to continue care. I enjoy collaborating with many other practitioners including herbalists, naturopathic doctors, holistic nutritionists, chiropractors, osteopaths, and more. I feel privileged to help people who choose to take their health into their own hands and become empowered to enjoy life more.”

“As the only Maya practitioner in the Ottawa area, I serve people from all across Eastern Ontario and West Quebec. Preston Street is the perfect area for my practice because it’s lively and energizing, plus its central location and abundant parking make it easy for clients to access my services. I am grateful to be able to work in the neighbourhood in which I live; I fell in love with Little Italy as a kid, visiting my grandparents here. There are lots of connections for me from the past that are now supporting me in the present. This is truly my home.”
