Get to Know the People on Preston

Tony and Maria Zacconi

“My parents opened Sala San Marco when I was 11. That was my first job. I’ve worked here basically my whole life. I opened a restaurant across the street; La Vecchia Trattoria. That’s where I met my wife. My parents were looking to semi-retire so we purchased the business from my parents.” – Tony

“He asked me out and I said no [laughs].We just hit it off at the restaurant. Within a year we were engaged and we were married within two.” – Maria

“Sala San Marco is the hub of a lot of stuff. Where else can you go to watch a soccer game with 500 other people? It’s like being in a stadium. We put up big, 10x12 screens. People come with their families. I hear guys in their 20’s who talk about being here watching games when they were 12 years old. We continue to build on our success. My father was never one to rest on his laurels.” – Tony

“We have very good staff. I’m amazed how many people take time to write and tell us how good the service was. We make a copy and put it in the back so everybody can see they’re making a difference.” – Maria

“I love Preston Street. I’ve loved it since I was a kid. I think it’s finally catching on.” – Tony
