Things to do on Preston Street


After the incredibly hot humid summer, it’s finally pleasant enough to contemplate a long, leisurely bike ride through the heart of Ottawa. If you’re looking for a new cycling adventure, it’s time to discover the Preston Loop. It’s a fifteen kilometre scenic ride via the Ottawa River and Rideau Canal cycle pathways. Head south on Preston, crossing Carling, then east to Dow's Lake and north along the canal. Pass through downtown then head west on the Ottawa River cycle path until you get to just past the War Museum, then head south on Preston to return to your starting point where you’ll find ample stops for shoppers and foodies available throughout bike-friendly Little Italy.
